Haha! I love this.
Haha! I love this.
The way you do shading is really interesting! I'm curious about what your process when you go about doing it. :)
Oh man thank you so much!! Super glad since it takes me a lotta work. Dunno if I could break it down fully but it basically involves blotting in pure black shadows, lining then filling colored shadows according to what I think looks good for the pic, blotting in highlights either in the color of whatever the light source is or whatever I think looks good, and then adding a lil colored "bounce light" to the edge of the shadows (That's the yellow you see, like, toward some of her edges).
I'll also make the shading a bit more jagged depending on how rough the surface is (i.e. socks get smooth shading but fur is more messy/rugged) as a cheap way to add texture
Cool stuff! :)
I can't wait for this game to come out. :)
I love how you draw enviroments and color them so much in your artwork, It's always super refreshing to see. :)
That's really cool! :)
Where did you learn to draw anatomy? I'm trying to get better at it myself. :)
Well firstly I was being influenced by whatever the hell I was into during my first artistic endeavors which at the time was jojo, but then Saint Seiya came along and Kinnikuman after that, and those manga really helped take the complex poses and dynamism of anatomy and simplify it into something I could understand, while the whole time I was notice things in real life like on my own body and other people. Eventually I found old capcom fighting game artists like bengus and mixing that with my love for anatomy and utilization of it, I slowly just put together a sense and understanding of it until I was satisfied with in terms of anatomy and slowly got my own thing goin', slowly just getting inspired and cribbing little things from various pieces of media I happen upon.
As a bit of advice, something I always kept in mind is how the entire body reacts to a motion, and its important to think of ways to keep the body unstiff looking, give it some sort natural feeling and be interested in the weird intricacies of the body.
I hope someday I have the patience to beat terraria by myself, lmao. Maybe with the wiki in another tab. Great art! :) The bunny makes me very happy.
What do you do to make it look like she's standing in the sun?
To get the bloom effect, I'm usually messing around with layer modes and soft brushes after the base colors/shadows/highlights are down. It varies from piece to piece. What I really recommend though is learning 3-point lighting, and then start experimenting once you get the gist of it. The sun here is pretty much one large key light with some soft fill and rear lights for indirect sources.
Before I read this was for Bloons I thought these were OC's from Monkey Quest, lol.
Oh wow, haha, that's some nice monkey design aswell. Well played Nickelodeon.
((MY NAME IS PANCAKE TOP-HAT. TOP. HAT. IT IS NOT "pancaketoofat"))
I like to draw funny cartoon characters. Hopefully for a living some day.
